Four golf courses in Mallorca will host the Grand Final of the Challenge Tour between 2019 and 2022

Four Golf Courses in Mallorca!!

Recently the Federatión Balear de Golf has announced that the European Challenge Tour final season tournament will be held in Mallorca for the next four years. In this first edition it will take place at the beginning of November at the recently renovated Alcanada Golf Club, thus being the final stop of the newly named ‘Road to Mallorca’.

In this way Mallorca returns to the international calendar of the Challenge Tour for the first time since 2003, establishing the agreement between the Challenge Tour and the Federation Balear de Golf Federation that the Grand Final wil be played in several golf courses of the island.

“This was a goal yearned for by Balearic golf for years, and we have finally made it come true. I want to thank both the Government and the Consell de Mallorca for their commitment to our sport, which is undoubtedly a commitment to quality. Dom Pedro Golf has installed a new water collection system from the lakes that, with the exact pressure, allows irrigation of Dom Pedro Golf Courses with a savings of 20 to 30% in energy, in water and also in labor.

The Millennium Golf Course will reduce 30.26 tonnes of CO2, and 87,500KW of energy saving in one year, and the Victoria Golf Course 61.26 tonnes of CO2 and reduce 177,000KW per year. Really impressive numbers that justify the considerable investment.

Energy efficiency will be visible on all golf courses of the Dom Pedro group in proportion to their characteristics.

Spain is one the most popular golfing destination in continental Europe, with 313 courses to choose from and a climate that can be relied upon year-round.
The coastal regions – the Costa Brava, the Costa del Sol, and, increasingly, the Costa de la Luz – are the most appealing for holiday golfers. The Balearic and Canary Islands have so much to offer too.

Malaga is a good gateway for many of the golf courses of Andalucia. The city is easy to reach from all Europe cities.

Every golfer has his favourite, but several of the Spanish courses regularly appear in lists of the best courses in Europe.
A golfing holiday doesn’t need to break the bank.
And wherever you decide to play there are ways of keeping costs down. If you are taking your own clubs with you on holiday, this might have a bearing on the airline you choose to use. Any of the low-cost airlines will charge extra to carry sporting equipment, in addition to normal check-in baggage charges. So, club hire sometimes is cheaper and you can choose your dream golf set to play with.
Many golf resorts also provide facilities for other activities to fill the hours when you are not on the course – or to occupy other members of the party who may not be golf aficionados.
A popular example of this is La Manga Club, which began life as a golf course in a residential development. Now it is a major resort covering an area the size of Monaco, with a five-star hotel, self-catering apartments, restaurants and bars, a spa, tennis facilities and three championship golf courses.
