Costa Blanca and Valencian Community

The Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community’s golf courses reopened on 1st of March after the new resolution of the Universal Health Department & Public Health of Valencian on the “new measures as a result of the health crisis caused by COVID -19 ”in the DOGV, although some of them will wait until Tuesday, March 2, as they are completing maintenance works and improvements on the greens that had been undertaken taking advantage of this forced stop.

It should be remembered that the 36 golf courses, 21 golf courses on the Costa Blanca and 15 golf courses in the rest of the Valencian Community, like, La Finca, Lo Romero, Villaitana Levante & Poniente, El Valle, Mar Menor, Alenda, Alicante, Altea, Font del Llop, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, Las Ramblas, Villamartin, Altorreal, La Manga Club Resort North, South & West, Roda, Campoamor, El Plantio, La Sella, among others were forced to close on January 21st after the decree issued by the Universal Health Department & Public Health of Valencian as a result of the health situation caused by COVID-19.

This forced closure has been a drama for the golf courses of the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community since they have had to continue paying the enormous daily maintenance costs, while in the rest of the country all the golf courses could remain open.
Once the reopening of the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community golf courses has been announced, as well as the rest of the outdoor sports activities that meet safety criteria, the great objective of resuming the activity and all the efforts of the sector has been achieved. They are oriented and prepare for the next challenges such as the gradual opening of the airspace and the future arrival of golf tourists to the destination.

Tee Times Golf Agency publishes these reopenings with great enthusiasm, wishing that very soon we all will be able to play freely and amicably on these and all the golf courses.
For a safe, harmonious and relaxing return to the Costa Blanca and Valencia, we suggest our atractive golf packages at the hotels: Principe Felipe La Manga *****, Sercotel Hotel Bonalba Alicante ****, Dna Monse ****, The Residences Mar Smaller ***.

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club continues to develop a sustainability strategy with concrete actions linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club joins the objectives set by the United Nations, necessary to build a better world from a social, environmental and economic perspective, developing a sustainability strategy with concrete actions linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Water is a scarce and indispensable resource for life and is at the epicentre of sustainable development. For this reason, at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club the consumption of water is reduced by using recycled water for irrigation, both on the golf course and in common green areas. The wastewater generated in homes and offices is treated in its treatment plant, where regenerated water of sufficient quality is obtained for reuse in the irrigation of green areas. Additionally, to irrigate the golf areas in a more efficient way, intelligent bases are used for centralized irrigation control and automatic measurement equipment to measure the pH of the water and optimize its consumption.

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is located in a high-quality natural environment in which the special protection area for the birds of the Sierra de Escalona and Dehesa de Campoamor stands out. A great variety of fauna lives there, from birds with striking plumage, such as hoopoe or bee-eaters, to protected birds of prey such as Bonelli’s eagle or eagle owl. As part of the efforts to preserve biodiversity, the complex has the continued presence of an environmental professional who provides expert advice.

Its landscaped trails among native vegetation allow you to enjoy 200,000 m2 of a natural area. All the plant species in the golf area are being progressively replaced by native varieties, with adequate maintenance and water consumption. Also, to reduce the volume of organic waste generated, pruning remains are reused for mulching of green areas of the complex.

In energy matters, as evidence of the commitment in the fight against climate change and the reduction of its carbon footprint, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has opted for renewable sources of energy, so that all the contracted electrical energy has a Certificate of 100% Renewable Origin Guarantee. Also, measures are being implemented to reduce energy consumption linked to lightings, such as the replacement of existing luminaires with LED bulbs or the installation of automatic control systems to reduce energy consumption linked to lighting.

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is intrinsically linked to the practice of sport and contact with nature, aspects that today more than ever are very much on the rise due to the benefits they bring to people’s health and well-being.

Due to its natural beauty and concern for the environment, this resort has been in great demand by Tee Times Golf Agency‘s customers and we have the pleasure to offer diverse packages for the greatest satisfaction of all.

Susana Ribeiro admits that 2020 was not a glorious year

Susana Ribeiro recognized that her international season was not the best

The former four-time national champion missed the cut at the Spanish Open and ended the season internationally.

A year after having had her best season ever, Susana Ribeiro experienced a troubled 2020, with just a few competitions, and, after missing the cut at the Spanish Open, in Marbella, she recognized that her international season was not the best.

«The 2020 season fell far short of my expectations in several aspects. Firstly, concerning the cancellations of a few tournaments, and, secondly, for my performance, ”she admitted to Tee Times Golf exclusively for Record.

«I felt that I worked hard and the results did not appear in competition. It is frustrating when we feel confident and things do not go as we expected. But this sport is this way and this is also what keeps us trying again and again, ”she added.

At the Andalucia Costa Del Sol, Spanish Open, the story was the same. The national vice-champion of professionals finished in the group of 83rd classified, with 157 strokes, 13 above the Par of the South Course of Real Club De Golf Guadalmina, in Marbella, after 80 and 77 laps.

The tournament ended the Ladies European Tour (LET) calendar, the first European division in the women’s sector.

The Spanish Open was won by the Danish Emily Kristine Pedersen, with 273 strokes, 15 under par, after 68, 71, 68 and 66 rounds. She beat the Spanish Nuria Iturrioz by 4 strokes. It was her third consecutive title and the fifth of her career. At just 24 years old, she is a rising star.

A year ago, Susana Ribeiro made the cut for the first time in LET events exactly in this tournament, but the list of 96 registered was much stronger this year and the cut was established at 8 strokes over Par.

“I don’t think I played so badly for the result that I presented. I missed making birdies on both days, ”said the 30-year-old Portuguese.

The former four-time national champion only converted 1 birdie into 36 holes and the weather didn’t help either: “The course was very demanding, very long and the heavy conditions due to the rain made this aspect even more difficult”.

This did not prevent her from being favourably impressed by the South Course of the Real Club De Golf Guadalmina that she played for the first time: «The course is spectacular, in excellent condition, very strategic and long, with very modulated greens and, in fact, that hole 10 is just beautiful, even parallel to the sea».

Susana Ribeiro has no plans for 2021 due to the cancellation of the International calendars in the female sector. In any case, the goal will always be to do better than in 2020, the year in which she finished 70th in the Order of Merit of the Ladies European Tour Access Series (the second European division), with two top-40s in just two tournaments played. She also competed on the Santander Golf Tour (Spanish professional circuit), in the same two tournaments, but this year she was not a member of the circuit, so she didn’t even appear in the ranking.

Tee Times Golf Agency underline that the South course of Real Club De Golf Guadalmina is the oldest course of the Guadalmina complex. It is renowned for its difficulty, thus making it more suitable for experienced players. Fairways are narrow and well protected by old trees requiring straight shots.
For an unparalleled golf vacation, we recommend the Hotel Guadalmina Spa & Golf Resort, a luxurious 4 star, using our unbeatable golf packages for 3 nights + 2 green fees; 4 nights + 3 green fees, 5 nights + 4 green fees and 7 nights + 5 green fees, in addition to the normal 18 holes with or without a buggy.
