Quinta do Lago North GC – Resurfaces with great Level

Portugal Golf: Quinta do Lago North Golf Course begins to resurface with great level. It was closed on 17th November last year to enter complete refurbishment, is already taking new shape and promises to be a new challenge in this luxury resort in the Algarve, Portugal.

It has been removed tons and tons of dirt from the old field and all the surrounding areas of the fairways and greens and it is being deployed tons and tons of new bases, new earth and sand greens, roughs and new areas for new fairways, surrounding the roughs.

It is very time consuming but it is being made hole by hole and the deadlines are being met. There are already some seeded fairways, bunkers marked, limited watering greens and lots of work done.

Experts say that this will be a field of ‘six’ stars in the Algarve. Let’s wait until the end of the year and if the weather helps to see, play and then analyze it… Looking good for now. It is due for completion in October, 2014.

When completed of course Tee Times will review it and surely offer it again on its best Golf holidays packages as before. We’ll keep you updated.

Golf Tee Times Portugal – Palmares Golf Course

Golf in Portugal: Palmares Golf Course is a spectacular golf course, redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr., with views to die for, over the bay of Meia Praia near Lagos, Algarve!

A player will find a mixture of Parkland and Links all designed to require greater skill to any class of player. The greens are large and very sloping and players have to face a few blind shots to them . Some people consider the course to be designed for buggies, not for golfers who like to walk the course and appreciate it.

This was another wonderful day of golf at this course, among friends and great camaraderie with Carlos Ferreira, David Bowles, Michael and Jack Hague.

Golf in Portugal: The 23rd of April Chez Carlos Algarve Golf Society tournament was held at the marvelous Oceânico Faldo Golf Course in Algarve, Portugal. A Sir Nick Faldo design golf course opened in 2008 which runs side by side with O’Connor. A big up and down course with elevated greens.

The greens are not very big and are very fast, with lots of bunkers. If you don’t make the ball fly then you have some difficulty. Faldo golf course would suit players with a medium and medium low handicap and is a very friendly course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with 1155m between the red and yellow tees. A nice golf course with beautiful views to the country side, you will see here cacti, wild herbs and olive trees.

Yesterday it was a beautiful sunny day although slightly windy for what turned out to be a wonderful competition among all the players.
