The Real Club de Golf El Prat has once again been selected to host a competition of the LET Access Series and the Santander Golf Tour. Together with the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza, they are the only golf courses in Spain to organize a tournament for the European circuit that brings great golfers not only from Europe but from the world. Under the name of Santander Golf Tour Barcelona, the tournament will be played from October 20 to 22 at the Real Club de Golf El Prat and will be the final of the circuit.

The RCGEP Pink Golf Course, the favourite of its designer Greg Norman, is prepared to offer to players greens that are as demanding as fun, very interesting and full of challenges.

In the first nine holes, the fairways are narrower and delimited by forest where the driver is not always the best option. Even so, the golf course is long and welcomes large and fast greens. The second round is demanding and requires a good strategy from the starting tee. On the other hand, recoveries will be the key for making a good result.

The Pink Golf Course is a very good choice for this event because it is one of the professional players’ favourites and this year some of the best golfers of the moment will participate.

The tournament will be the grand finale of the LET Access Series and offer a total of thirty-five thousand euros to be distributed among the players who manage to make the cut. In 2019, the Swedish Johanna Gustavsson was the champion of the event.

The European Tour Qualifying School has been bolstered by the addition of four new venues ahead of the competition’s return in 2021. The Portuguese Montado Hotel & Golf Resort and the Australian Rosebud Country Club will make their long-awaited debut in 2021 after the Qualifying School was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while the Danish Lyngbygaard Golf Course and the Spanish Empordà Golf Course have also been added to the calendar for 2021.

The European Tour Qualifying School will visit fourteen venues from September to November and allows professional and amateur players to earn a place at the highest level of golf competition in Europe for the 2022 season.

Montado Hotel & Golf Resort, Lyngbygaard Golf and Rosebud Country Club will debut at the Classification School as Stage One venues, with the latter making history as the first Australian venue to host a Classification School event. The first stage will take place at nine venues in total including returning clubs in Austria, England, France, Italy and Sweden.

Empordà Golf Course returns to the calendar of the European Tour Classification School as a Second Stage venue, along with three other Spanish venues, Alenda Golf Course, Desert Springs Resort, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, after having hosted the Final Stage in 2000, 2002 and 2003.

The competition, established in three stages, will culminate with the Final Phase event at Lumine Golf Course in Spain from November 12 to 17, where just over one hundred and fifty players will play in six rounds the possibility of securing one of the twenty-five European cards Tour.

The film of the promotional campaign «The Algarve looks good on you» won the Golden Star in the international category «Tourist Destinations – Regions» of «The Golden City Gate 2021», film and multimedia festival of tourism held within the scope of ITB Berlin, the largest tourism fair in the world, which this year takes place in a virtual format.

Produced by New Light Pictures for Turismo do Algarve, «The Algarve looks good» was chosen by the festival jury as the best in the world, surpassing the remaining films from regional destinations in Berlin, Germany – one of the most important tourist markets for the Algarve, with an annual record of approximately two million overnight stays in the region’s hotels in the pre-pandemic period.

Created to motivate national and foreign tourists to enjoy the summer holidays in the region, reinforcing confidence in the «Algarve» brand and the notoriety of the main tourist destination in the country, the campaign features a motivational film starring one of the couples of Today’s most successful international travel influencers, the @explorerssaurus_, who share unique experiences in exceptional places scattered throughout the region, such as waterfalls, picturesque villages, beaches with extensive sands and crystalline waters or more secluded and hidden among cliffs.

For the Turismo do Algarve’s president, João Fernandes, the distinction has a special flavour, as it is the international recognition of the work done in the regional tourism promotion, and makes all continue to believe that everything that happened in the last year does not will prevent from coming back in force. Very soon it will be able to discover how well the Algarve is and enjoy the vast tourist offer of the destination. This award, within the scope of ITB Berlin, reinforces the message that the region is prepared to receive tourists from different origins in safety.

Previously, the film had been awarded at ART & TUR – International Tourism Film Festival 2020, which took place in Viseu, and at Finisterra – Arrábida Film Art & Tourism Festival 2020, in Sesimbra.
