On Thursday the 13th the Terramar Golf Club inaugurated its new golf course with the opening of three new holes in the Can Pere Pau and Can Girona area.

Completing the second phase of the Master Plan, designed by Martin Ebert, with this reform the course will once again be a par 72 with the incorporation of a par three (hole eleven), a par four (hole twelve) and a par five (hole thirteen).

To complete the new Terramar project, the third and final phase of reform will be pending with the construction of the new hole ten, a par four with a large lake between the second shot and the green that will give a new personality to the entire area.

In this way, the new layout route goes from 5,893 meters to 6,036 meters, making the golf course more competitive although adapted to all handicaps and ages. The new holes are a par three of 151 meters from the white tee, located next to the old catalogued farmhouse of Can Pere Pau (which will be restored in the future after the architectural study that is underway), a par four of 330 meters on land granted by the Sitges City Council and which is parallel to the Can Girona area, and a par five that when the third phase is completed will become par four with a green next to the same lake as the future hole ten.

Once the last phase of the Master Plan has been completed, Terramar golf course will then maintain a par 72 since hole ten, currently a par three, will become a par four. This new 495-meter par five runs along the route of the old twelfth hole but in the opposite direction and ends on the green of the old par three on the lake on the thirteenth hole.

Terramar Golf Course

With narrow tree lines, expansive parkways and featuring flat-terrains, Terramar Golf Course is one of the oldest courses nestled in the serenity of the Catalonia region, near Barcelona, in Spain. The course was designed and opened around 95 years ago, in 1922.

The original design was illustrated by Tom Simpson featuring 18 holes and had a more classic vintage appeal attached to it. Since the course has undergone periodic renovations, that incessantly added and enhanced the characteristics and appeal of the course.

The last major renovation overhaul was conducted in 1993, during which the designers completely changed the outlook and reconstructed and reshaped the meadows as well as the playing structure to a modern, intricate and more challenging configuration.

The course has been segregated by a railway line that slices through the fairways. Holes 1 to 4 are simplistic and convenient for a warm up and recharge, situated 180 yards from the tee. The north side of the track is lined with holes 5 to 17 and fluctuates in their degree of intensity and challenge until they meet the four hazardous water ponds. Some of the holes are exceptionally tricky and demand a greater input of precision and accuracy. The 3rd par-three features a little creek. The 8th par four is the trickiest and the most demanding of all, slightly doglegged on the left side.

Terramar Golf Course is ranked at 24th among the best golf courses in North Spain. The facilities offered at the course provides an all-inclusive experience to golfers and makes it one of the top picks of golfers in the region as well as from across the globe.

Aside from metal spikes, driving ranges, putting greens, rental carts, and caddies, the course also offers golf school and coaching facilities. Additionally, there is also a clubhouse, a restaurant, banquet, lockers, patios, lounges, and bars within the premises, to provide a complete holiday experience to the visitors.

Please note our Ladies European Tour ‘Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open’ event will take place in Golf Terramar next 17-23 April.

Terramar Golf Club, founded in 1927, is one of the best golf clubs in Spain , second oldest course of Catalonia and seventh of Spain. It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in the town of Sitges (Barcelona), known for its beautiful beaches and temperate climate that makes it a pleasure to play golf all year round.

Tee Times Spain Golf – Costa Dorada New Shuttle Service

The Costa Dorada Golf Association has recently announced that from March 1st, 2016 will offer a “Golf Shuttle” service between hotels, golf courses and the two airports serving the golf destination (Barcelona and Reus).

As a part of ongoing efforts to improve services it will start to operate a “Golf Shuttle” that will service the 9 hotels and 7 golf courses. By adding this service the visiting golfers can enjoy the golfing offer without having to use rental cars.

The “Golf Shuttle” is available for any group size but the minimum charge will be for 4 persons. Bookings for 1-3 persons will be accepted (but charged as 4 persons). Net rates “per person” are available. So if the final group size is affected by late cancellations it will not affect the price for those who actually travel!

In order to optimize customer satisfaction each “Golf Shuttle” transfer will be individually booked in order to fit as good as possible with each client’s golf- and flight schedule.

Period of operation: March 1st – June 15th and September 1st – November 30th

The service will need to be booked at least 14 days before arrival. Bookings made with shorter notice are possible but will be “on request” and cannot be guaranteed. The transfers will be operated by one of the major transfer companies in the Costa Dorada region with many years of experience in the golf segment.
