With over 300 days of sunshine, dramatic coastline views, and some of Europe’s top-ranked courses, the Algarve is a dream destination for golfers of all levels. Whether you’re looking for a competitive challenge or just a scenic round followed by a long lunch, this southern slice of Portugal has something for everyone.

So, where should you start?

First, book smart. Tee Times Golf Holidays has been helping golfers plan seamless Algarve getaways for over 30 years. With direct access to premium tee times, exclusive packages, and trusted relationships with the region’s best resorts, we will tailor your trip around how you like to play.

If you’re after iconic fairways, don’t miss Monte Rei (Jack Nicklaus Signature), Quinta do Lago South, or Vilamoura Old Course—some of the best in Portugal. And the best time to visit? Spring and fall offer ideal conditions without the summer heat, but even in winter, you’ll find warm days, great value, and fewer crowds.

Need clubs? No problem—high-quality rentals are available. Prefer private transfers or drive yourself? Tee Times has you covered. And when you’re off the course, unwind with fresh seafood, explore coastal villages, or go wine-tasting inland. The Algarve is as much about lifestyle as it is about golf.

A few tips before you go: check if the course you’re eyeing requires a handicap certificate (some top-tier ones do), and pack proper golf attire—yes, even on holiday, there’s a dress code.

Bottom line? Whether you’re chasing birdies or just the sunshine, a golf holiday in the Algarve is always a win. And with Tee Times handling the details, all you have to do is show up and swing.

A Fresh Chapter for a Portuguese Gem: Big Changes at PGA Aroeira No. 2

There’s something special happening just south of Lisbon—and if you love golf, it’s definitely worth your attention. PGA Aroeira No. 2, one of Portugal’s most memorable woodland courses and a proud host of the Ladies European Tour, is about to get a major upgrade. Designed by the legendary Donald Steel and opened in 2000, this championship layout is loved for its flowing fairways, tricky lakes, and greens that keep even the steadiest hands on edge. And now, it’s getting even better with Details – Sports, Hospitality, and Leisure management.

A thoughtful renovation

From June through mid-September, PGA Aroeira No. 2 will temporarily close for a thoughtful renovation that promises to raise the playing experience to a whole new level. Expect revamped tees and bunkers, top-dressed fairways and greens, smarter drainage, smoother buggy paths, improved lakes, and upgraded landscaping. Even the practice area and irrigation systems are getting attention. The best part? A new set of on-course restrooms for added comfort during your round—because great golf deserves great amenities.

But don’t worry—PGA Aroeira No. 1 and the stylish clubhouse will remain open throughout the works, so golfers won’t miss a beat.

Experience this transformation

Tee Times Golf Holidays is your ticket to experiencing this transformation firsthand. With exclusive access to Aroeira courses and a deep understanding of Portugal’s top golf destinations, our team can help you build the perfect Lisbon golf escape for unforgettable golf holidays. Whether you’re looking to test your skills on 6,300 meters of pure challenge at No. 2 or enjoy a relaxed round at No. 1, there’s no better way to experience Portugal’s golf scene.

Renovations like these don’t just improve a course—they show long-term commitment to quality, sustainability, and the golfer’s experience. And that’s exactly the kind of story we love to share at Tee Times.
