This brandy is made from the red berry-fruit of the Arbutus unedo tree (‘Strawberry’ tree), which thrives in the poor Algarvean soil. It is said that, since there is no commercial plantations of Medronho trees in Portugal, the fruit collection and Medronho production is carried out by local farmers.

This high-powered 2-wheel event is taking place at the spectacular Algarve International Circuit (Autodromo Internacional do Algarve) in Portimão.

The Superbike World Championship, founded in 1988, has a season that consists of a series of rounds that have two races. Results of each race are combined to determine two annual world championships, one between the riders and one between the bike manufacturers.
