Cabopino Golf course, only opened in 2000, grants you wonderful views over the surrounding landscape, the sea and the mountains. It is convenietly placed as regards transport and facilities making this golf course easy to reach The Cabopino area of the coast is one of the most picturesque. With its quaint port, white sand dune-filled beach and lush green pine forests, you can’t help but fall in love with it. The Cabopino Golf Club has a similar effect. Designed by little-known Spanish architect Juan Ligues, this 18-hole, par-71 golf course is short but very tight in places. This charming course will not only test your golfing skills but thanks to some strategically placed hazards, it will also test the patience to the limit. Spain Golf Atalaya New Golf Course Teetimes

Atalaya New Course offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar and is seen as one of the most natural golf courses on the coast. Created in 1990 by Paul Krings, the New Course is set further inland, but has a similar parkland feel about it - with gently undulating fairways and large, fast greens. It would be fair to say that, in general, hazards are obvious but still manage to trap the unwary. Care is needed off the tees and the wild hitter will soon encounter difficulties..(...) Rating 7/10

La Cala Europa course is 6014 metres in length, par 71. A dramatic golf course but easier for the average golfer, with generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens than Campo America and Asia. Notable for one main bridge and four smaller bridges across the River Ojén, which features in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There are four tunnels for golf carts. Water hazards guard the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 233 metres. The par 5 11th is the longest hole at 524 metres. La Cala Resort is one of the largest and most exclusive resorts in southern Europe with three 18 hole golf courses, the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain and a high standard Par 3 six hole golf course. The natural features of the La Cala terrain have been used to challenging effect by the renowned golf course architect, Cabell B. Robinson. The three golf courses are carefully maintained to ensure they are playable all year round. The North Course (now renamed Campo America) is perhaps more difficult than the shorter South (Campo Asia) but both demand great accuracy from the tee and careful club selection. Meanwhile, the third golf course, Campo Europa, uses the River Ojen in making the course distinctive. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards. The C course, Gaudaiza, with the remodelling of a few years ago now feels much like A course, where the player must use a complete range of shots making it a very enjoyable course. La Cala America formerly the North Course, Campo America is enhanced by spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea. A buggy is a necessity as the golf course is extremely hilly and has some huge changes in elevation on and between golf holes, La Cala America have some occasional long distances between greens and tees. It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make La Cala America a slightly easier driving course, requiring a lot of carry across steep brush-covering side slopes, while the small raised greens demands precise club selection.You will find water hazards on the 9th and 16th.Holes 6, 9 and 18, par-5ths are particularly more challenging and the par-3 16th is a real treat to play. An emblem of the architectural brilliance of the designer Cabell B. Robinson, he takes pride in the complexity of the La Cala America golf course and values it as one of its personal favorite works. (...) Rating 9/10

The oldest of the resorts three golf courses and the one most respected by the professionals, it is narrow and short, with four par 5 holes demanding skill and strategy. Look out for the 10th with its classic design, and the 5th where the aim of your drive is especially critical. The 18th requires full concentration. Remember not to over-club off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could spoil your scorecard.
