It is convenietly placed as regards transport and facilities making this golf course easy to reach The Cabopino area of the coast is one of the most picturesque. With its quaint port, white sand dune-filled beach and lush green pine forests, you can’t help but fall in love with it. The Cabopino Golf Club has a similar effect. Designed by little-known Spanish architect Juan Ligues, this 18-hole, par-71 golf course is short but very tight in places. This charming course will not only test your golfing skills but thanks to some strategically placed hazards, it will also test the patience to the limit. Opened in 1991 Santa María Golf previously was a 9-hole golf course designed by Antonio García Garrido. After finishing the second nine, designed by it's own technical staff, 5 years later in 1996 the golf course is now sited in two valleys in the hills in a surrounding with beautiful views. The golf course is not too difficult to play with its wide fairways particularly on the back nine. Besides golf, the Santa María Resort offers other facilities like tennis courts, swimming pools and the Santa María Bowls Club, an official bowls club.(...) Rating 7/10

Santa Clara Golf opened in July 2001. This golf course is located only a couple of kilometres east of Marbella at the Costa del Sol in Spain .Enrique Canales designed this course in ''Park-land'' style and, although Santa Clara Golf is located in an undulated area, it is relatively forgiving. Probably the most difficult hole is the long 8th (par 5 - 506 metres). The tee box is positioned at the highest level of the course. The narrow fairway of this hole curves all the way down to sea level.Santa Clara Golf is designed accordance the latest USGA specifications of a Park-land course. Besides the huge river which swirls across the whole golf course there are plenty of lakes (the small lake around the 18th green provides a stunning setting, see the picture above) and spectacular elevated greens.(...) A buggy is a necessity as the golf course is extremely hilly and has some huge changes in elevation on and between golf holes, La Cala America have some occasional long distances between greens and tees. It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make La Cala America a slightly easier driving course, requiring a lot of carry across steep brush-covering side slopes, while the small raised greens demands precise club selection.You will find water hazards on the 9th and 16th.Holes 6, 9 and 18, par-5ths are particularly more challenging and the par-3 16th is a real treat to play. La Cala Resort is 5925 metres in length, par 72. Formerly the South Course, the spectacular Campo Asia has plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf. The oldest of the resorts three golf courses and the one most respected by the professionals, it is narrow and short, with four par 5 holes demanding skill and strategy. Look out for the 10th with its classic design, and the 5th where the aim of your drive is especially critical. The 18th requires full concentration. Remember not to over-club off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could spoil your scorecard. La Cala Resort is one of the largest and most exclusive golf resorts in southern Europe with three 18 hole golf courses, the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain and a high standard Par 3 six hole golf course. The natural features of the La Cala terrain have been used to challenging effect by the renowned golf course architect, Cabell B. Robinson. The three golf courses are carefully maintained to ensure they are playable all year round. The North Course (now renamed Campo America) is perhaps more difficult than the shorter South (Campo Asia) but both demand great accuracy from the tee and careful club selection. Meanwhile, the third golf course, Campo Europa, uses the River Ojen in making the golf course distinctive. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards.
