Improvements on Baviera Golf
Baviera Golf, on the Costa del Sol, completed a number of maintenance and renovation projects in the final quarter of 2022 that enhanced the golf course's long-term viability.
On hole 5 and on the tee of hole 6, large areas have been bark-covered to reduce the need for irrigation water, while cleaning work has been done in hole 14's lake to reduce the effects of algae growth, so improving the quality of the water and preventing unpleasant smells. In addition, the waterfall here now oxygenates the water, which in turn reduces the growth rate of algae.
Nonetheless, more than 150 trees, including cypresses, casuarinas, pines, brachychinton, and poplars, have been planted around the golf course to help purify the air, cool the soil, and prevent erosion.
Improvements have also been made to the grounds of the facilities, located off the golf course, with the landing of stones and bark to aid with water conservation and enhance the natural beauty of the area.
