Real Guadalhorce Golf Club on the Costa Del Sol was redesigned by Miguel Angel Jimenez.
The golf course was first designed by the Finnish architect, D. Kosti Kuronen, and was redesigned in 2009 by Club member, D. Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who used the Club and facilities to practice and train.
The golf course lies in the centre of the fertile plains of Guadalhorce valley and you will not find yourself in the middle of a built up area which may spoil your game.
The family atmosphere is one of the main features and despite being a private club, you can enjoy its facilities on weekdays with a prior reservation.
The Real Guadalhorce Golf Club, located in Málaga, in the Costa del Sol, has undergone a number of renovations over the past several weeks to enhance the performance of its facilities.
Improvements to the 10th tee and the new entrance to the par 3 course are still in the works. The club is now reworking the men's tee 10, aligning and levelling it in preparation for sod installation.
Players will soon be able to enter the par-3 course from a different direction, eliminating the need for them to pass in front of tee 10.
On the other hand, to avoid major problems with the roots of the trees both on the tee and in the parking lot, it has been moved to hole 14, allowing the hole suffered after the flood last year to be filled in and secured.
For safety concerns, they have already finished the precise cutting of the eucalyptus trees in the children's section, and in the following weeks they will be renovating other parts of the golf course, such as tees 8 and 9 for the ladies.
As for the new putting green, the grass is growing as expected, and the club hopes to have it ready for use within the next month. Mulch has been installed in several areas (9th hole green, 8th hole tee, 7th hole green) to protect against erosion, thermal conservation, humidity regulation, etc.
Finally, it should be mentioned that after finishing the installation of photovoltaic panels, the Real Guadalhorce Golf Club has begun producing its own solar energy.
“Since the end of 2022, we have been busy at work renovating, upgrading, modernizing, and cleaning up the whole club's facilities. Our goal is to ensure that our Real Club runs smoothly at all times, and we are making steady progress towards this end. Although there is more work to be done, we are making progress”, said Real Guadalhorce Golf Club general manager Ignacio Sánchez.

Great course very well maintained. Greens are perfect but difficult to read. The front 9 is more hilly with various different holes. The back 9 is more boring, flat holes, and long. The main problem is the noise of the planes over the course wich is in line with the airport runways
