Real Sotogrande Golf course is a gem of a golf course on the Spanish Costa del Sol that was constructed more than 50 years ago, and it still provides a real test to even the best golfers. Opened in 1964, the golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones. It was his first European golf course.It is par 72, 6,224-metre layout Sotogrande is a private members' club, which maintains an air of calm and restrained sophistication, whilst at the same time providing a warm welcome to visitors. The clubhouse is well designed and elegant, the food and drink excellent and well presented, and the changing rooms. There are many strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The fairways are wide lined by wonderful cork, eucalyptus, pine, oak and palm trees, making par very difficult for the golfer be able to relax. The greens are fast and true. The golf course underwent a massive upgrade in 2015-16 which was completed by Roger Rulewich and David Fleury in two stages to allow members the use of one nine at all times. Putting surfaces had grown by up to 40% of their original size over time so green shapes were fully recovered, with sub air systems installed to ensure their optimum performance. Fairways and tees were also reconstructed, using 41,000 kilometres of drainage, 71,000 tonnes of sand and 37 hectares of Bermuda grass. (...) Rating 7/10

Golf Novo Sancti Petri with its 36 holes is one of the nicest and pleasant golf clubs in Spain , and can offers various combinations of 18 holes: Course Mar & Pinos and Centro Nuevo were designed by the master Severiano Ballestros and both are a par 72 . Montecastillo Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus design, one of the most popular golf resorts in the world and it hosted the Volvo Masters Andalucia for five consecutive years beginning in 1997 when Lee Westwood won the event. Montecastillo is a splendid layout with some very testing holes and a buggy is recommended. Recently 100-year-old olive trees have been planted around the golf course, the installation of a new drainage system and the introduction of silica sand to the bunker complexes have also been implemented.(...) San Roque New Golf Course is the latest addition at the San Roque Golf which opened in 2004. These 18 holes were host to the 2006 Spanish Open and PGA qualifying school. Despite its age, San Rogue New course is a very mature golf course. A variety of large and deep bunkers filled with crushed marble sand waits for your drives from the tee and shots toward the greens. The Links course at the Alcaidesa Golf Resort orignally opened in 1990 then remodeled in 1999 to improve its playability by widening fairways and ironing out some of the more severe undulations on the greens. It is an undulating cliff top seaside course that enjoys stunning views over the Mediterranean, the Straits of Gibraltar and the distant Atlas Mountains in North Africa. The course has an out and back routing with the first four holes heading towards the shoreline and the mile-long beach.
