“Along with the construction of the concrete roads, earthworks were also carried out as part of the work that took place in order to integrate these roads with the greens in a further seamless approach. This provided an enormous challenge, as it is a difficult effort to achieve full integration into an existing golf course. Making it appear as if the roads were part of the initial construction,” explains Leopoldo Espinosa, who is the coordinator of the project responsible for improving the golf course experience in Costa Blanca.
The construction of the road involved the insertion of sump pits as well as the installation of curbs at essential spots, ensuring the safety of players. Simultaneously, efforts were aimed at improving the irrigation system, a common improvement in such endeavours, often focused on golf sustainability.
