We return every year and never disappoints. Played Lagos and Praia in superb condition fast greens. We played in wind so was very difficult for the higher handicaps. Must play course. Some apartments being built around the clubhouse and the directions for the buggies could be clearer as some paths blocked off.

Palmares is a 3 nines course, with Praia 9 running along the seafront giving it a distinct ''links'' feel. The course was in very good condition and the greens were very quick.

The course was spectacular and in good condition. The checkin process was a tad awkward as the club initially denied that we had booked and paid for a buggy. This was resolved when another staff member reviewed a different computer. Signage to find the clubhouse was a little lacking and the bar service (after round) was not of a standard matching the facilities.

Disappointing! Significantly overpriced for the current conditions = not worth the (high) price at all. For a recommendation the course needs significant improvement.
We have played Alvor and Lagos (holes 1 to 18). The tee boxes have seen aerification recently and are heavily sanded. Fairways are dry and hard with coarse spots in many places. The semi(?) rough consists of different grass sorts with different height and density. At several holes the unmaintained rough is next to the green which makes chipping a lottery game. The bunkers are OK (maybe the best part of the course). The greens have seen aerification recently as well and are sanded (like the tee boxes). Putting speed is fast but inconsistent. The ball is not rolling, but jumping in zic zac lines on the green.
Clear statement: directly after aerification I expect a 50% reduced green fee until the greens are in good condition again.

Habe es zwei Tage später wieder bekommen. Weiterhin gerne wieder. -**- Played in November on a rainy day. Course in excellent condition as I have known it for years. I left my wedge on the 18th hole. Got it back two days later. Still happy to play again.

We had a tee time of 12.40 when we arrived we were told that our tee time was moved to 1.10. Condition of the course was not as good as we expected . Received e mail from club giving a discount on our next visit.

Desperately sad to see Palmares in such poor condition. The layout and views are superb but the tees, fairways and greens are nowhere near where they should be.
The fortune spent on the new Clubhouse and it's Michelin starred restaurant are in stark contrast to the deteriorating course. The water shortage cited locally as the main reason seems strange when other courses are not affected in the same way. Something doesn't feel right about what is happening. I really hope they can reverse the position. I have played the course almost every year since the 27 hole layout opened, and when it was the original 18, but sadly I won't be returning with it in the current state.
I really wish then luck in restoring the course and will monitor reviews in hopeful anticipation of improvements.
