Silves Golf Course
Silves golf course opened in 2006 and is located in the countryside inland from the coastal resort of Armaçao de Pera.A medium flat to hilly course with very good holes. Some holes are very challenging and you will need to be spot on. You will find it challenging, tough and wide greens where you will need to give good shots. Hole 16 is a tricky Par 4 which is a dog leg left. Silves would suit players of all standards and is a fairly friendly course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with 528m between the red and yellow teesA nice golf course with lovely views to the country with palm trees and olive groves. The nearby cork and citrus farms give a truly authentic Portuguese feel while playing.

Really liked Silves golf course, the price was good and the only downside was the condition of the greens was not great in places.

Lovely course with great elevation change. Fairways are pretty dry but the greens were receptive and rolled fairly true.

Lovely course layout making it challenging on the majority of holes.
Being part of the Pestana group I would have hoped the condition would have been at same standard as Vila Sol but it isn’t that’s not to say it was bad just a bit more grooming and watering would further enhance it and bring it up to that standard.
Wonderful signature hole 12th.
Pretty good par 3 13th where one in our 4 ball managed a hole in 1.
I’ve read about the nearby factory billowing out smoke which it did today but it didn’t affect visibility and had a lovely burning wood smell which was a bonus.
Lovely clubhouse and veranda .
Well organised society game by Jim who no doubt can do it with his eyes shut but credit to him.
Acid test would I play Silves again - yes without any hesitation.

I was here 4 years ago. Then I did not like it. No good conditions and not nice to play. That has been changed. The greens fairway, bunkers and even "the ninetheenth hole" were good and we had a lovely day.

Enjoyable course with a couple of feature holes .
Tecnicals
*Undulated - Rolling fairways, not steep
*Dogleg - A few gentle dog legs
*Exposed - Generally wind playing a part on difficulty
*Buggy Recommended - If Essential
*Water hazards - a few water hazards ,especially on the par 5 , 13th hole
*Parkland - typicall algarve landsscape
*Signature Hole - 13th, par 5
*Comments - New course,reasonable value
