The staff were very accommodating again today. Finding us two te times on the Royal Course when we were booked at The Ocean due to the bad weather. We therefore got to play 18 holes. It was wet but it was to be expected. The greens were still good and we had a good round taking all the circumstances into account. We will be back.

The Buggy need more service before they are rented out. Heavy stearing conditions, The Tyres needs more air. The Trolleys/ electric trolleys has to be checked propely before they are rented out. SOme make a lot og noice when they are running. The golfcourse was very good.

Great course! It was easier to play than Ocean, many very forgiving Par 4's. The greens however, were left with many impact marks, surprised that so many players just leave them and a real shame because it makes the greens worse than they need to be.

Excellent golf course, really well maintained. Friendly and efficient welcome. Despite the fact the resort and both courses were busy we were well looked after at check in and by the starter who got us away 15 minutes early. You really do need a buggy, so pleased we did, not a course to walk.

Design of the holes is very nice to play.
However you feel more in down town, than on a golf course.
At the moment al lot of contruction of even more villas.
You even have to walk across public streets with your trolley :-)
Maintenance of fairways, greens and bunkers was very good,
but for us, the fairway was nearly on first cut hight...
2nd 9 is a bit more quiet..the signature hole 16 is cool, but no more.
For us, Vale do Lobo has a big name, but is far behind ohter courses here in Algarve.

What a place! The Royal Golf Course is absolutely stunning – the condition is spot on from tee to green. Fairways like carpets, greens running true, and every hole just feels special. You can tell loads of care and pride goes into keeping it in such amazing shape.
And then there’s the clubhouse… wow. Pure class! It’s stylish, welcoming, and the perfect spot to relax after a round. Great food, great service, and a really friendly vibe that makes you want to stay for hours.
Honestly, it’s one of those courses that gives you the full package – top-class golf and a clubhouse to match. Can’t wait to come back!

The most unique course I have ever played on. Spectacular views, magnificent holes, especially par threes over water and walking the streets to get to some tees. Most unique. Service excellent. Incredible array of golf attire, etc. We played early which helped as it is an extremely busy resort. Would certainly play it again. And finally the lounge/bar area was great.

Course in very good condition - tees, fairways and greens. It was playing long as the fairways were very soft due to recent heavy rainfall and presumably routine watering. The staff were very friendly but one major complaint being Val do Lobo allow golfers to choose to play as a 2-ball; including the 2 players we were supposed to play as a 4-ball. Nonsense! This meant being held up on almost every hole on the front nine and then more so on the back nine as we ended up with 3 groups of 2-balls with none of them offering to team up. Urge VdL to review this policy to help ensure a steady pace of play.

I played the Royal round, except for the hole 15 with the magnificent view, it wa s not something spectacular. Lot’s of construction work building houses and the toilets were used by the construction workers. (So too dirty to be used by ourselves)

A shame, such poor conditioned greens. Every one either diseased or riddled (the most ever seen) with pitch marks. We were doing 5 each and not making an impact. It’s pointless spending your money here would argue. Course wise design is fair, not overly long but you must be straight. OOB/Houses in play a lot off the tee, so it’s not for the faint hearted in terms of slice/hook potential!

Play this course every time but today was the worse. The fairways although dry were very soft and they were hollow /aerating the fairways. Greens not the best either. Always enjoy the last few holes out by the beach but this now could be the last time. Ocean was far superior 3 days ago. For the price though, still worth the round.

A quality course and clubhouse facility but not including buggy before 12 noon is silly given everywhere else does and distances between some holes (we were relieved we had paid for the buggies). Also greens absolutely covered in pitch marks. Not exclusive to this course but I don’t understand why they don’t give every player a pitch mark repairer - especially considering the number of players who hire clubs out here and won’t have their usual equipment.
Also we played early and were told before teeing off that we could get food and drink from vending machines at 9th as cart would be unlikely to be on the course while we were playing. When we got there it contained 3 beers and a can of monster. Not exactly what we wanted

Played here last year and again this year, the course, staff and everything about this golf club is absolutely brilliant. The course is absolutely beautiful, and in excellent condition. Nothing was too much trouble from the reception staff, the starter and the bar and restaurant staff. Brilliant, we will return many times Im sure in the future. We played both courses this year, Ocean and Royal and we all agreed that these are the nicest 2 courses that we have played in Portugal. The Ocean course is brilliant but Wow the Royal course is something else.

The course was great, lovely course. I was paired up with 3 Scottish guys players. One had his father with him all in Buggies. Really nice group of people. On the back 9 a Marshall came up and asked why we were playing as a 5 ball! We weren't we had four players plus one spectator. The Marshall came back 5 mins later and said the group behind had seen us playing as a 5 ball, and that they were members. I didn't know the Scottish guys but I told the Marshall that this was a blatant lie by the group behind as we only ever had 4 players with one spectator.
This incident was unpleasant and affected the last 7 holes of my round on a beautiful course. For the record we completed the round in 3 hours and 48 mins keeping up & waiting for the group in front.
Anyone especially members should not lie and get Marshalls to confront players. To be fair the Marshall believed us the second visit but it wasn't good.

The course as always was in excellent condition, the greens were in pristine condition. The pace of play became very slow from the 9th to the 13th holes and you were constantly waiting. Finally the course Marshall’s got to grips with it and had a word with the culprits which was a ladies 4 ball. They came and told us that they had spoken with them and the pace did pick up. Overall it was a very enjoyable round.
