Vale do Lobo Ocean golf course is a par 73 and presents itself with some of most spectacular views, on any golf course in Algarve. The front and back nine had some of the nicest layouts of an Algarve golf course. A long opening hole, then followed by the introduction of water required careful plotting. A fantastic golf hole awaits you on the 9th with a sequence of waterfalls flowing from the left of the green along side of the fairway. Back nine runs back and forth to the Ocean and marvelous white sandy beaches, part of Vale do Lobo golf resort. Some really nice holes before a tough hole back to the club house with an amphitheater green. A well worth Vale do Lobo golf course to play any time of the year in Algarve.
A little late to start at 2.40pm, just got in before dark, course busy and slow, but the course was in excellent condition.
News - Golf in Portugal - Vale do lobo Ocean course
We played yesterday at Vale do Lobo Ocean course on a hot day, but a sea breeze made it very pleasant.
We were 18 players of various nationalities, Portuguese, English, French, Swedish, Scottish and Irish, it is worth mentioning these last two nationalities.
The golf course was in perfect condition, with some greens that were fast and smooth but soft at the reception of the ball, a pleasure to play.
The course is long and has miscellaneous holes, the front nine being played in the north and west part of the resort and the back nine next to the Atlantic, which provides breath taking views and allows for some shots with the murmur of the sea in your ear. It is worth paying attention to the spectacular views on holes 11, 14 and 15. Very good.
The winner this day was Ian Godfrey with 38 points, followed by Fraser Graham with 33pt, and in 3rd 2 players with 30pt Jim Gillis and Peter Collins. Nearest the pin, on 13th, a narrow green well protected by deep bunkers was won by David Ziai, who placed the ball 3 meters from the flag.
We all return to our usual Restaurant in Vilamoura for some drinks and our free nibbles generously offered by João Filipe. Another day well spent.
Practice facilities....it always helps to warm up Conditions and layout 9/10 Hospitality 8/10 19th hole is a great lay out to enjoy the club house. Nevadabob store great selection but limited course logos
Nice course, found to have too many blind shots.
The sheriff acted like an idiot, stressing us out and spoiling our fun, his remarks were out of place and made no sense...
Enjoyable course with great sea views on a couple of holes. Too many blind shots.
Excellent course in excellent condition.
Very nice course. Greens were very smooth and pretty fast but not too punishing for amateurs. The rough was deceptively high and easy to lose balls on some blind shots. Perfect day today, but with wind the course can be difficult. Very nice Ocean views. Service not very good, practice facility sucks. But the course is worth it.
Marvellous layout in tip top condition.
Faultless as usual, thank you

Exceptional day. The course was in fantastic condition, as expected, and the greens were first class. Stunning views and beautifully sculpted holes. It’s just everything you could ask for. Worth every penny and actually very reasonable when compared to other courses charging the same.
A good test of golf with the bonus of the views
