Vilamoura Dom Pedro Laguna
Laguna Golf Course in Vilamoura - Algarve , laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere. Many previous visitors will recognise it as part of the former 27-hole Vilamoura III course.|It includes several lakes which influence play on a total of 11 holes. In addition to acting as hazards and emergency water reservoirs, these lakes serve a useful purpose in attracting a variety of aquatic birds, both resident and migratory, as well as amphibians, otters, terrapins etc.|Vilamoura's master developers, Lusotur, have also established an environmental nature park not far from the course. Apart from the lakes and an impressive total of 79 bunkers, another hazard is the wind that frequently blows over this somewhat exposed location.

no buggies available, we only played 9 holes. staff were friendly but restricted by management rules as to what they could do for us. we will not be returning to this course, also the greens were sub standard, they appeared to have a hard crust on top

Spent a lot of money on the relaying of the course. It is now worst than it was before. The greens are horrendous

Great course but greens too fast for enjoyable round. Staff are fantastic. My handicap is 13 and I used to be 4. I want more enjoyment in my round. Not impossible 2 putts on many greens.

Vilamoura Laguna is an enjoyable course, if you stay away from the water! Lots of nice holes, some challenging. Newly seeded bermuda grass on the greens is not at best to grow in wet and cool weather, making the greens sticky, especially on the front 9. Rough and bunkers are good, tee boxes flattened, and fairways in good condition. Hoping greens will catch up quality of sister course Millennium soon.

*Links Course - Probably not near enough to the coastline to be links, but back 9 plays is links style

*Comments - Good test, with well placed bunkers and water hazards
