Monte Rei North Golf Course
Monte Rei Golf Course is an amazing design from Jack Nicklaus and is a truly unique golf course where you will find the whole experience, one to remember. It's a slightly hilly golf course so Monte Rei includes a complementary buggy on all green fees proposed. The fairways are generous and the golf course boasts excellent fast, huge, beautiful greens. You will need to avoid the many sand traps and be very attentive to your putting. Monte Rei golf course would suit players with medium or low handicaps and is a very friendly course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with an 1185m difference between the red and yellow tees. Monte Rei is a unique golf course with beautiful views over the hills and Atlantic Ocean. From the moment you arrive, the service is amazing, you will be greeted at your car by a golf caddy, provided with valet parking, taken to the check in and your clubs put immediately on your buggy which has complementary water and tees. Guests are escorted to the practice facilities and the 1st tee where fresh fruit is provided. At the end of the play you are met by the ranger who will give you a personally inscribed bag tag and during the game you will be given cold towels in the summer and frequently visited by the well-stocked buggy bar. Monte Rei Golf Course offers the best service in Portugal.

As one of Europe's leading golf courses, I had been looking forward to playing Monte Rei for a long time. The greeting on arrival is impressive, and the helpful staff put your clubs on buggies, and park the car. You are then taken to the driving range and chipping/putting area, which is very good. The build up to playing the course definitely gives the impression you are getting the 'Monte Rei experience'. So to the course - the layout is excellent, but the condition was poor. That included fairways and greens. We played Quinta de Cima the following day, and it was in far better condition. So the general feeling in my group was of disappointment. 220 euro's is a lot of money, so we expected a course in pristine condition. Unfortunately that was not the case, and I will only return when reviews indicate a course in better condition. 220 euro's is not value for money.

Fantastic Experience, Golf Course constructed through valleys, and therefore you hardly see anyone else playing the course. But you need your A game, or lots of sleeves of balls! The staff were fantastic and tapas was wonderful!

Welcome is first class. Bag drop, valet parking, escorted to excellent range, 1st tee etc. Continues after the round… clubs cleaned, put in car - you get the idea.
Course is varied and challenging - lots of bunkers, water and at this time of year the rough is punishing (hard to find balls).
Greens immaculate and roll great. Fairways a bit scruffy in places (still recovering from summer drought?)
Expensive but you have to do it once ????

*Exposed - Very on elevated tees and open fairways

*Water hazards - Designed wonderfully creating the desire for your best shot
*Parkland - Yes
*Signature Hole - Hard to choose, but the 13th, par 4 with is elevated tee and the entwined green wedged between the lake and the sand.
*Comments - The best golf course in Portugal
