Very slow, when we got to par 3 6th hole - there were 3 groups already on the tee. The ranger was excellent and said that the course was very busy and groups wouldn’t move on despite being told. He suggested we play the front 9 again and later updated us and told us that some groups ahead had already done that and the back 9 would be ok - which it was.

There are only two toilets on the Milennium golf course and one of them is out of order. This is insufficient and not the high standard we would expect given the standing of this club and the price of the green fees..

We as a group have played Millennium everytime we go the Algarve which is almost 20 years now and this is the best we have see it play. The greens,fairways and bunkers were in perfect condition. Just the way you would like to see a course presented.

The greens on millennium where nice but the pace of play was Very slow. the course seemed to be full of Scandinavian players who are very slow. we took nearly 5 hours to play 18 holes. I think it’s advisable for other bookings to play early in the morning to avoid these players

Millenium was in great condition when we played at the start of July. Greens, tee boxes and fairways were top notch. Not too busy either so we could play at our leisure. We played off the forward tees so the younger members in the group could enjoy the par 3's which were all in the 135 to 155 yard range. Will be back to play here again.

Course has taken some heavy traffic as Laguna and Victoria closed, tees looked very tired and the greens are struggling a bit with the lack of people repairing the pitch marks. The bunkers are solid and without sand making them tricky to.play out of. A nice course just over used at the moment.

Organising the golf through TeeTimes was a quick and pain free process. Many thanks to Vera Santos. Played the Dom Pedro Millennium 20/06/2023. Course was in fantastic condition. Fairways were well cared for and surprisingly green. The bunkers were full of lush white sand and bizarrely a treat to have been in. The greens were excellent, free of any disease, a standard colour and ran true. The Millennium is a fare course with no hidden surprises, it plays as it looks and was a great opener to the week. A must to visit.

We found Millennium in good condition, it is a good enjoyable layout, holes 3 to 7 are excellent. Only complaint was speed of play, first 12 holes took 3 and a half hours, it picked up a bit after that,also staff at Dom Pedro courses has went downhill we were brought the wrong bill on 2 occasions & noticed this also happened to other groups

The best course that I played. It was in excellent condition, the starter was very friendly and knowledgeable. The fairways and greens were in great condition. The marshals on the course ensured that play was kept to the correct pace. It was supposed to take 4 hours and 40 minutes for the round and it took 4 hours and 35 minutes. The clubhouse and food were outstanding.

Booking was easy, no problems with teetimes and the course was beautiful. It was just all very rushed, they’d given out buggies to a large group which meant when I went to get my buggy, I was waiting until 2 minutes before my tee time to get it, and then told to hurry up. Wasn’t impressed by the rush considering how much money we paid It seems like the group want to maximise profits at the expense of a relaxing holiday round of golf Course was great just far to rushed and felt like I was always being watched and rushed forward

Having played this course at the same time of year for the last 18 years, I found that the fairways have suffered some noticeable deterioration over the last few years. Teeing grounds also showing use but the greens are still good. Pace of play was very good considering the number of groups playing.

Dom Pedro Millenium is a nice course, enjoyable - playable by golfers of any level. Wider fairways than most Vilamoura courses make it more forgiving. Green-keepers are doing an excellent job to maintain good speed and true roll on the greens, despite Poa annua in bloom. Bunkers are not up to standards (sand compact and stones in greenside bunkers). Nice club house and practice facilities (but chipping green under repair for nearly a year!).

The high season having passed, I was surprised at the quality of the whole course. There were very few divots and the few I did see had been back seeded. The only issue I have is the condition of the bunkers, which had virtually no sand and were nearly all wet, making bunker shots virtually impossible to control. Practice facilities excellent. We started play on the 10th tee. Holes 10-18 are typical of holiday resort courses with little character or memorable features. Holes 1-9 are a a different story. It would appear they were built in an earlier phase of development and these holes were much more challenging and interesting (although the tees were in poor condition). Overall, I would not recommend this course at the full rate, at the Easter special rate it was a reasonable day's golf (despite the rain).

If you are planning on playing some of the Oceanico / Dom Pedro courses, this is a good one to to begin with as it is less tricky than the Old Course or Victoria, as well as having less water than Laguna if you're a bit erratic from the tee.

Millennium Golf Course is central to the Algarve in Vilamoura. It is a pleasant course, not too difficult and great for holiday golf. Today the course was in really good condition. The overnight and early morning rain lead to a soft and forgiving course. The fairways were in good condition and despite the rain were not wet . The greens were in excellent order resulting in some very good scores. The cost is quite high for a course such as this but still an enjoyable experience.

On a beautiful warm and sunny January day.......well it was for 5 or 10 minutes from time to time! Seriously, in between a couple of substantial showers and occasional light drizzle two groups still enjoyed the delights of the Millennium course. Millennium is a Par 72 golf course located in Vilamoura. Open since 2000 it has become the most popular in the Algarve. It is not a hilly course and so if you enjoy a walk you can do without the buggy. It is regarded as a fairly forgiving course, and one to build a good score on. If you're on a golfing trip it is ideal to start your game here to iron out all those faults before taking on tougher courses. It is quite an open course and the front 9 has 5 holes set between pine trees, making it a more aesthetically pleasing experience, but on the other hand also more challenging, with narrower fairways. The back 9 is easier all around, slightly shorter, with a total change of scenery into open spaces, allowing mainstream golfers to hit the green in regulation. It is a really pleasant golf course to play. On the day the majority of our golfers scored in the 30’s and so the damp weather didn’t intimidate us too much. Nearest the Pin at the short 15th was Tracey McCall who also triumphed in the individual competition, with a score of 34 points. He won only due to having the best back 9 pipping Steve Jinks into 2nd place. Steve in turn only overcame Carlos Ferreira due to a better last 6 holes. As is often the case after a game in trying conditions, the post match banter was particularly enjoyable. With Parky’s kitchen closed for holidays, we again were treated to nibbles of spare ribs, chips and bread served up by Felipe and his staff at Chez Carlos.

This was the last weekend to take full advantage of the 'Summer Special' deal by Oceanico as it closes the 15th September. Golfers are begining to realise this is a good time to come over and play and hence the last few days have seen the families head back to the new school year and the avid golfers to arrive. An ensemble of twelve players gathered for today's betterball stableford game. On this occasion we used the slope rate system which Millennium records a '120' - this resulted in many players taking a handicap reduction. The course was presented very well. The odd rainy day we enjoyed a week ago had seemed to aid its presentation and to making for fast greens. A busy course meant for a slower round than normal so players were ready for some liquid refreshment once again in Parkies Bar along with some freshly cooked pizza.

Chez Carlos Golf Society 2010-07-26
Millennium GC was our venue for the Individual Stableford this Saturday. This course provides the chance to score well, but with varying pace on several of the greens, with patchwork quilts on some, and snail pace golfers in front for all of the 18 holes it took the toll on some of us. The 5 holes in the trees on the first 9 are always a pleasure to play, and are not complemented by the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th, however the trees on these holes are now getting bigger and soon will be a bit more daunting. The back nine normally lends itself to better scoring, and this proved the case this week with most players in the top half having improved back nines.
