We found that it was difficult to find on our satnave because of new roads creates in recent years. However, the road signage was non existent which kis bad marketing. The bar and restaurant was closed for refurbishment. It would have been nice to know before we visited The course was enjoyable but in need of attention. It looked a little neglected and the signage is poor and needs painting at the very least We were surprised to have to pay 60 euros for a buggy having just been to play Quinta South with a buggy price of 37.5 euros.

We had high expectation regarding the visual point of view of the course taking the pictures you can find back on the internet into account but we were a bit disappointed. A lot of holes are played on a 'open' plateau which we didn't expect and was visually less appealing. Apart from this, tee boxes-fairways and greens were in good condition. The staff, especially at the font desk, were very friendly. The tapas, especially the croquettes, were great.

The golf course was very well maintained and the holes are links-course typical varied. We had caught a windless day, which certainly helped. The greens were fast, but not so that putting was impossible. The reception at the clubhouse was a bit underwhelming. And since we got a late start, no one was waiting for us - we got off the 18th green at 6:20pm. We then put the carts somewhere and after some searching, the cook let us out of the already locked area.

In generally my opinion is exceptional golf course compared to any other Lisbon area courses. Some minor minuses were: rangeball dispenser was not available on Mon 3rd of Oct. Restaurant was not open on Monday although the course was fully booked from early morning till late evening. We were playing from white tee and it was confusing that white/black tees were missing totally on 14th teebox. And last but not least on Mon 3rd trolleys were not available and only buggy or carry on bag were options. This was also very strange for the high quality course invwhich many players only visit once during their stay Wish this leads to even better Oitavos Best regards, Pasi Olenius Helsinki

This remains a truly world class golf course and a memorable day out for anyone who loves the game. Everything was in immaculate condition when we played. It is, however, very expensive, so it is a little disappointing that the Club offers you absolutely nothing for this beyond the right to play golf, not even a bottle of a bottle of water to take with you in your pricey buggy. This seems a little mean.

This was supposed to be the best course and it was certainly the most expensive course during our vacation. But we were very disappointed. There was a lot of sand on the greens. This has not been told to us in advance. Also a lot of construction around the course and the clubhouse/restaurant.

Another day, another round of golf. First time here, and truly impressive, not sure I like Ronaldo's new house being built in front of the clubhouse, if you can call it a house, more like a hotel???? I play of nine and started the course off the whites, but after coming up short(ISH) on a few par fours, I went to the yellow's, a much better experience. You must stay on the fairways as the rough is pretty tricky to get out of, a mix of sand and shrubs. The fairways were in pretty good condition, and the greens were (good) tough, and quite slick. There are some truly memorable holes with views, and I would recommend it if you are in the area

I went very excited, to be playing 2nd(?) best course in Portugal and 56th(?) in the world, and left disappointed because it wasn't in all aspects. On the positive side was the condition - this is winter, it had rained, and the fairways were magnificent, the greens great and really slick if you were down grain! The view is great. The wind was up which I really enjoy (driver, 4 wood and 4 iron to par five, a couple of 350 yard drives in the other direction!), the course was tight in places. I got a great deal from teetimes who fitted me in despite course being fairly busy. The bunkers were works of art and fantastically maintained. It's easy to walk round. The negative - a number of the holes around the centre of the course run side by side, albeit not consecutively, but it's difficult to avoid other fairways on certain holes! You could throw a blanket over about 8 holes here, pretty much, and I got the feeling a couple of the holes were shoe horned in. Some of the run off areas were fairly scruffy but it's winter. I tried to play a little like a links course but it isn't a links so the ball held up but catch some slopes and the ball disappears off the other side! In summary world class fairways and greens but not layout.

Very nice course. Perfect. Only a pity that restaurant/bar was closed due to private party. They did not tell upfront. And the 19th hole was our final destination for the long weekend with our own ceremony awards etc. We had to move this to our accomodation. So course a 8.

A must play. Extraordinary course outlay with plenty of challenges. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition and the ball runs true on the putting surface. Plenty of fluffy sand traps (dunes) strategically situated. Will play it again

We played 5 courses in the Cascais region and this was planned to be our signature course. It was more than double the price of others we played but unfortunately it was a massive let down. Whoever rated this course as being one of the top courses in Portugal was way off the mark. The condition was moderate at best, the cart paths were very poor and the layout was terrible - several holes together in a big open field. Save your money and play Belas, Estoril or Penha Longa Championship course - it will cost you half the money and you will have a much more pleasuresble pleasurable experience.

In my opinion a very average course ,and certainly far from the best in Portugal. Unbelievably the bar and restaurant was closed when we finished our round at 5.30! Certainly not value for money.

I just finished my round in Oitavos Dunes and it was quite an enjoyable experience. Nice design and friendly staff. However, there was a lot of GUR/areas that were out of play due to maintenance. There were more than 6 tee boxes where there were no tees laid out. Usually when there is this level of work on a course, the staff will inform you in advance and there will be a reduced green fee. This was not the case today which was a surprising and disappointing.

Golf course is nice and well laid out. Some of the holes are very interesting as well as challenging. The course is also reasonably in good repair. But very poor signage around the golf course. At places we were struggling to find the next tee.

Unfortunately quite some course maintenance works going on at the moment which does not justify a greenfee of Euro 95 - this on top of sanded greens - all in all course layout challenging and still a gem / why are there cigarette stubs all over the place - I have no problems with people smoking but please discard your stubs in the trash container.

Due to maintenance the course was in very bad condition. Several greens completely sandy, blocked by greenkeepers and their carts/lorries. They didn't move or stopped working at all. We had to play over the carts and around the greenkeepers. One green didn't even have a flag at all. The signs are miserable or not existing at all, the toilets couldn't be found either (3 toilets?? But problably blocked by the maintenance cars). No water to clean the balls. No reduction for the green fee, but 58euros for a buggy, no bottle of water included. We definitely will not come back!!

Beautiful course. Loved playing it. Service was good. But when I arrived, I was told there were many golfers and no buggies were available. The gentleman I was playing with and I are both in our 60's, and had to walk the course. When we were done, there were golf carts sitting unused. Very frustrating. I would not have played the course if I knew I had to walk.

Très beau parcours de type links situé dans une station balnéaire (Cascais). Le tracé est intéressant, très difficile quand le vent se lève. J'ai trouvé le retour plus facile que l'aller. Sur certains trous, on aperçoit l'océan avec des départs très surélevés. Le parcours se situe principalement autour de complexes immobiliers (ex: villas, hôtels de luxe). La particularité du parcours est qu'il n'y a peu ou très peu de roughs, il faut obligatoirement être sur le fairway car votre balle peut être mal placée dans les zones dites plus "sauvages". Concernant l'entretien, je trouve que les fairways sont parfois secs à certains endroits du parcours. Les greens venaient d'être sablés donc très lents. Je m'attendais à mieux sachant que le parcours est classé dans les meilleurs golfs du monde d'après un journal de golf britannique !

This received the most applause in part because the winds all week were very strong and we did not think were would be able to play! However the course this time was sheltered so we had a great last game. Greens were medium fast and true. Fairways like walking on a mattress, very easy on the knees. Club house looked and felt very empty - literally only a couple of staff manning the club so not very inviting to stay after the round. So we didn't! Second time I have played and enjoyed the experience but still struggle to understand some of the planning permissions given for properties on the course which do not seem in keeping!

golf course was outstanding and very difficult. Kitchen service very slow and wait staff were not alert to slow kitchen and were slow delivering drinks but staff was polite. Eventually, entire meal and drinks were provided at no charge due to these issues.
