Oitavos Dunes Golf Course, par 71, designed by the renowned Arthur Hills, opened in 2001. It is located in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, creating stunning mountain and ocean views. Arthur Hills maintained the natural characteristics of the land in this clever design and the golf course name reflects its natural sand dunes. Oitavos Dunes is truely a great golf course. There are a few trees, dunes and bunkers to avoid. Oitavos Dunes was the first golf course in Europe to receive the Audobon Gold Certificate, the top environmental certification. Oitavos Golf course is a mixture of parkland and links in some parts with rolling fairways. The greens are large and some have an unusual roll to them due to the grain line. Oitavos Dunes has an excellent practice area with two putting greens, short game facility and driving range. The golf course is certainly one of the best in mainland Europe and set to be one of the best in the world.
Oitavos Dunes is an excellent course. Looking forward to playing the course again
Another excellent golf course in Cascais Portugal .. what a region it is for golf and should be high in any golf tourist list ????????
Superb coastal links course in excellent condition - great fairways (mostly quite wide) and fast greens. Some changes of elevation and some very pretty views add to the interest. Nice staff and an excellent clubhouse restaurant add to the experience.
We found that it was difficult to find on our satnave because of new roads creates in recent years. However, the road signage was non existent which kis bad marketing. The bar and restaurant was closed for refurbishment. It would have been nice to know before we visited The course was enjoyable but in need of attention. It looked a little neglected and the signage is poor and needs painting at the very least We were surprised to have to pay 60 euros for a buggy having just been to play Quinta South with a buggy price of 37.5 euros.
We had high expectation regarding the visual point of view of the course taking the pictures you can find back on the internet into account but we were a bit disappointed. A lot of holes are played on a 'open' plateau which we didn't expect and was visually less appealing. Apart from this, tee boxes-fairways and greens were in good condition. The staff, especially at the font desk, were very friendly. The tapas, especially the croquettes, were great.
Great course with wonderful views
The Oitavo Dunes course was excellent and we had a very enjoyable round. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant and club house were lovely.
Excellent course in very good condition. Staff very friendly and helpful, we had forgotten our voucher but no problem.
Amazing! Great welcome, fantastic layout, challenging greens.
Excellent course and in good condition. Buggys a little too expensive at €60 but overall we would love to play it again
*Undulated - Quick greens and surprising slopes
*Mix - Some parts of the course have the links feeling
