Course played much better than expected, even although it has been very wet in January/February 2026. Hole 16 was difficult, apart from that not too bad, a few wet patches here and there.

The staff are very friendly nice people. It’s a solid test of golf which is walkable as the gaps between tees and greens aren’t huge.
General quality of the course is good.
It’s always part of our annual visit to this part of the Algarve.

This was the best condition we have ever seen Alto in. The greens were true and fast, if you had a down hill putt, god help you. Plenty of grass on the fairways, very few bad lies and if did get one it was in the rough, the rough itself is tough to play feel shots out of. A great test today. Small greens and plenty of holes that require shot shaping.

We were very disappointed to find that there were no tokens for the driving range, no buggy available for the third person in our booking, the toilets on the course were out of service and only one player had been booked on their computer system instead of 3 as per the voucher. This meant that another 2 players had the same tee time as us at 11 .51 . The round was therefore extremely slow as there were obviously too many people trying to play. No apologies or explanations from the staff - unfortunately a very disappointing day.

Excellent all round. We arrived on the last minute but the lady on the golf reception dealt with us promptly so we could get out on time.
The course is much improved from our previous visits with some tough holes - particularly the 18th.

Excellent golf course! Really good value. Very well kept fairways and greens. Tight course with small greens providing a good challenge. We played with a mixed group of beginners and experienced golfers and everyone really enjoyed it! Phenomenal value !!

Disappointed with all the fallen / cut trees and debris all over the course. Fairways clear and in good condition, but "astray" shots caught by the pines between the holes are normally easily found, but not now. Close to impossible to find your ball with impact on play, score and fun... Debris all brown in color and looked old, so not from a recent storm. Diappoining round at Alto this time.
Staff and club house left a very good impression.

Alto is a good course. It’s not easy small greens and tight fairways. You have to try and work the ball both ways to be in the best position. It had rained a lot this week but the course held up very well.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
We will of course be back.

Alto is a really tricky layout, small greens and you need to work the ball both ways off the tees. It plays tough and was the only course we played in 5 days where we received more shots than our handicaps. The service was good and welcoming.
The course was in good condition only let down by the fairways needing a bit of a cut and the greens had suffered with some disease which had been infilled with sand and we suffered a few unjust bobbles. We will be back.

Not a great start, we visited a couple of weeks before playing to confirm no works pending on greens, but that changed and it was like putting on the beach. Paid €6 for a basket of balls, but ball machine not working and pro shop did not have the authority to refund. Course is short and very tight (several times we had to duck from miss directed shots from adjacent holes) with the main defense being a dog-leg to every par 4 and par 5 and every green having severe run-off areas. Severe borrows on many greens. Fun, but there are better courses in the area.

We arrived at the course 45 minutes before our tee off, this should have been plenty of time to get prepared for our round. However, despite arriving early it took 30 minutes of those 45 to collect our buggies as staff were unsure if we could have them as other players had medical certificates.
The course was lovely and considering the recent wet weather it played well with some difficult tee positions.
It was nice to watch the last of our group from the club house bar. Very nice course and will play again next time.
