It seems they had people start on 10 earlier and didn‘t manage the gap properly (i.e. no marshall on course) Back 9 pace was ok because a couple of fights in front of us finished their round on 9.

Teetime was changed to 20 minutes later without any notice. We were on time at TEE nr 1 , 5 min after our teetime caddymaster told us that we needed to start at hole 10, no one told us that. We reserved 3 buggies, we had to wait to pick them up 10 min before departure. Then the caddymaster told us to get keys at reception. Not the relaxed manner to start your 18 holes. Terrible . Course it self was as usual very good.

A very enjoyable course, the six holes by the sea are clearly the highlight, but the entire course is very good. Having played courses in the Algarve for many years, this is a more rustic experience, with the conditioning reflecting the exposure to the Atlantic, but great fun to play. We had two sets of very slow four balls in front of us, and no marshals in sight to hurry them up (they spent ages looking for balls they should have stopped looking for after a minute or so). At one point we had four sets of players on one hole! It meant a very slow 18 holes for me and my playing partner, and it was difficult to get into a rhythm, constantly waiting for people to make headway in front of us. We had a buggy and the particularly slow four ball directly in front of us did not, which didn't help. However, on a positive note, the course is fantastic with stunning scenery and the food/drinks before and after was good! Thoroughly enjoyed playing, despite having to wait frequently.

Just perfect! Only blemish was on Friday when they started sending people from 10th tee also. There were some really slow players and that was reason why I could not finish full round that so I wouldn't miss my flight.

Everything else was exellent except the opening time of caddiemaster. I had the latter teetime on 25.3. at 8.00am. Caddiemaster opened 7.30am, having a long line of golfers waiting. This means there is no chance to go to the range and if you are not the first one on the line (and still not mach time), you have to ran to to the teebox or you are late. If the course is challenging like this course, there should be enough time, even for the first teetimes, to go to the range.

Praia del Rey is a fine golf course, and was in excellent condition when we played. The tee locations were always interesting, and numerous, to suit differing player abilities. The fairways were generous in width, making hitting fairways from the tee easier than neighbouring courses West Cliffs and Royal Obidos. The approaches to the green, however, demanded accuracy. All our threesome found the course enjoyable and challenging to play. However, slow play of numerous groups ahead meant a 5.5 hour round, with no course marshall to help matters.

Overall a good experience. Course in very good share overall. Some bunkers a bit different than the others and in mediocre shape. Greens excellent, fast and true. The layout is quite varying, which is nice. First 9 are parkland/forest, second 9 close to the sea. Three holes right next to the sea shore but not the "wow" -effect described in ads, pretty nice though. Some mix up with the starter, someone had left earlier leaving me alone but then he drove to stop them and wait at next tee.

Proshop staff very friendly. Course not in the best of conditions as previous times we have played this venue. Neighbouring courses tee box's and greens in far better condition. We played off the 62 championship tees and at least three tee box's needed limbs of tree to be removed to make the holes playable. Holes 7-9&18. Just in case your wondering our playing handicaps are +2/3/5/6. These limbs need addressing. Overall we play here every year and a must for all golfer as both nines are completely different styles, front Parkland, back Links. Beautiful scenery.A++

We were very disappointed they didn't have any golf boards for hire, we have hired these from there in the past and they definitely help with the pace of play. This is our tour favourite in this region. Unusually we did start at the first tee and as a result built up the expectation of the stretch along the coast on the back nine between 12 and 16 which is glorious, the European version of Pebble Beach. The staff are friendly and courteous, the view and food on the balcony is excellent but a bit pricey, and the course was in ideal condition with reasonably quick greens for October, as normally at the start of the peak season they are often kept a little longer. As a small group of 60+ yrs olds, this was the first year we've used buggies, something none of us like but needed due to an injury, it actually enhanced the course as there's a lot of travel between some greens and the following tee. If you're on the Silver Coast, defo include this in your tour.

Magnifique parcours situé dans un complexe hôtelier et proche de l'Océan Atlantique. Le parcours est très intéressant, varié avec deux parties bien différentes avec des trous souvent boisés sur les 9 premiers trous. Le retour est peut être un peu plus facile même si certains départs sont compliqués car ces trous sont en bord de mer. Le vent est forcément présent sur cette partie du parcours. D'ailleurs, le golf offre des vues impressionnantes sur l'océan à de nombreuses reprises. Le parcours est relativement difficile par moment, un index minimum est donc exigé pour jouer ce golf. Le parcours est très bien entretenu avec des départs, des fairways et des greens qui sont à la limite de la perfection. Le club-house est lui aussi agréable et très moderne. A cette période (Juillet), c'est la moyenne-saison au Portugal, le rapport/qualité-prix est donc excellent car le golf est somptueux. Ce golf fait partie de mes favoris et est souvent cité dans les classements de parcours de golf comme étant un des meilleurs du Portugal et d'Europe. Je vous conseille donc de le jouer, vous garderez un merveilleux souvenir.

We played here after Royal Obidos and West Cliffs, and it is nowhere near as much of a challenge as those courses. That said, after the opening 5-6 holes (which are quite dull), it turns into a nice trek, with a series of holes along the edge of the ocean. Clubhouse is more expensive than others and food pretty average

It was fairly accessible and straight forward to play, but plenty of tees to choose from if you wanted more of a challenge. The course is brilliant. Good move to prevent buggies from using fairways on 9th & 10th holes which have been in poor condition in the past. It is still one of my favourite courses anywhere in the world. However, the service levels could be improved. Caddymaster staff do not have customer service at the forefront. They expect guests to load bags onto/off buggies where it is normal that caddymaster should help. Availability of pinsheets is poor if you play early on the day they move the pins

Praia Del Rey is a true gem! You get great oceanside holes on the back 9, and parkland type holes on the front 9. There is a variety of holes. The course was in great shape, and played true. This was a definite value for your money, and I would play here again!

Sat 11th booking was excellent. Round as a 3-ball starting at 1st in just over 4 hours. Enjoyed the course Monday 13th booking - course very busy. Started at 10th. Around in 5 1/2 hours and we could not go any faster. Starter introduced a 4th person to join us. Nice chap, but he was a 30 handicapper who played badly. Much of our time was spent searching for his golf balls and even then he must have lost a dozen - and he was very loose. Have to confess this spoiled our experience somewhat.
