We played Quinta da Marinha and Golf Estoril. Quinta da Marinha was very average as a golf course, still a nice day out but for golfers it is not a very interesting course. Golf Estoril however was amazing and very momorable. Beautiful landscape. Challenging but fair golf holes. A sense of history. So my advice for you when dealing with prospect customers is to recommend Estoril as the more interesting course.

We particularly enjoyed that Golf Estoril have a 9-hole course (the blue course), which is very well priced and is a bit easier than many of the other courses around, though is not too easy. It still offers some longer holes and the greens can be quite tricky. The practice facilities are also superb.

Chipping area is far away from putting practice area which is a turn-off, otherwise they were in good condition. When we played, it was pouring quite heavily and greens were full of water. So were the fairways. I understand the golf course is very old so, the base does not allow much seepage or drainage, but this is important to keep the course as dry as possible when torrential rains hit the course. Otherwise the course was in excellent condition, enough greenery, short holes but accuracy required. Greens were slow due to moist conditions so unable to comment the speeds when dry. Club lockers were of antique looking wood which added to the experience of playing in one of the oldest courses. Overall good experience playing at the course.

Very helpful staff, beautiful mature course in old school design in excellent condition, especially quick and tricky greens to defend the course. Having played newer style courses at Penha Longa, West Cliffs & Praia d'el Rey , Estoril made a very pleasant woodland course, not overly long but some tough par 4's. Our only negative comment is some tees are very near previous greens, so need to be mindful of possible danger.
