El Cortijo Club de Campo was designed by Blake Stirling, formerly head designer under Pete Dye, and Marco Martín of Global Golf Design. Built across a former farm's three valleys around some 600 centuries-old palm trees, it hosted the 2002 Spanish Open, won by Sergio García for his first professional victory on home soil, with Rafael Cabrera-Bello the tournament's low amateur.

The course runs as two nine-hole loops either side of the clubhouse. The front nine drops gently through a valley; the back nine is the sterner test, with the long bunkers on the 2nd and 11th standing out as the course's signature hazards. Lakes come into play on eight of the eighteen holes, and six tees per hole keep the 6,308-metre layout, one of the longest in Spain, playable across the handicap range. El Cortijo is a members' club at heart: visitors are welcome on weekdays, with some booking restrictions, but weekends and holidays are reserved for members.

Facilities include a driving range, golf academy, locker rooms and a putting green. Book ahead for a weekday round on a genuine tournament course close to Las Palmas.
