Mijas Golf - Los Lagos Mijas, Andalusia
Mijas Los Lagos golf course is the larger of the two Mijas Golf courses with is 6,536 meters. The golf course has been totally refurbished in 2012, but have kept Robert Trent Jones Jr originall design. Mijas Los Lagos is a course with soft slopes, wide fairways, and few forest trees obstacles, but defended by many bunkers and not less than nine lakes. The greens are large and flat with sensitive undulations and the wide tees can be accommodated to reduce or enlarge the challenge of the golf course.Mijas Los Lagos is considered a course suitable for holiday golfers, being one of the most famous golf courses of the Costa del Sol. Mijas Golf - Los Olivos Mijas, Andalusia
Designed by Robert Trent Senior, the main feature which distinguishes Olivos golf course from The Lakes is the abundance of characteristic Mediterraean Olive trees, its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens at Los Olivos golf course are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both golf courses are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two golf courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens. Santana golf course is a poplular course in the Fuengirola area. The golf course has breathtaking views of the Mijas mountains, close to the Mediterranean sea. The golf course is set in a former avocado plantation which provided a natural solution to many problems. La Cala America formerly the North Course is enhanced by spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea. A buggy is a necessity as the golf course is extremely hilly and has some huge changes in elevation on and between golf holes, La Cala America have some occasional long distances between greens and tees. It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make La Cala America a slightly easier driving course, requiring a lot of carry across steep brush-covering side slopes, while the small raised greens demands precise club selection.You will find water hazards on the 9th and 16th.Holes 6, 9 and 18, par-5ths are particularly more challenging and the par-3 16th is a real treat to play. La Cala Europa Marbella, Andalusia
La Cala Europa course is 6014 metres in length, par 71. A dramatic golf course but easier for the average golfer, with generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens than Campo America and Asia. Notable for one main bridge and four smaller bridges across the River Ojén, which features in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There are four tunnels for golf carts. Water hazards guard the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 233 metres. The par 5 11th is the longest hole at 524 metres. La Cala Resort is 5925 metres in length, par 72. Formerly the South Course, the spectacular Campo Asia has plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf. The oldest of the resorts three golf courses and the one most respected by the professionals, it is narrow and short, with four par 5 holes demanding skill and strategy. Look out for the 10th with its classic design, and the 5th where the aim of your drive is especially critical. The 18th requires full concentration.
