Isla Canela Old
Isla Canela Golf course is situated within a Nature Reserve where the river Guadiana empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Its beautiful location and the mild climate of the region make it an ideal destination for golfing all year around.
The course, designed by Juan Catarineu, is successfully integrated into existing flat terrain and is very comfortable to walk. Wide fairways run between natural dunes and many trees - oranges, olives, eucalyptuses and palms- have been introduced not only to enhance the location but, by their position, to provide natural hazards. At first sight it looks like an easy golf course, but it has its hidden difficulties!

Isla Canela Golf
Beautiful and cosy clubhouse - very nice with all the different furniture - (although some armchairs could do with a piece of new fabric).
The course itself is very narrow, especially on the first and last few holes, so you can often spot players from other holes on yours.
It was quite busy on the day we were there because there was a tournament going on. So occasionally we had to wait. Don't know whether this is normal or not. We will only find out the next time we play.
The staff was again friendly and helpful.

Very challenging course, the bunkers in general were in poor condition., otherwise course was well maintained with very good greens. We enjoyed our round of golf.
