Las Colinas Golf and Country Club
New Short Game Facility Unveiled
Las Colinas Golf and Country Club is considered one of the best in Europe, the 18-hole, 71-Par course conquered all its reputation thanks to its design and excellent maintenance levels all year long. It won the Best Golf Course in Spain award, granted by the World Golf Awards in 2015 and 2016, and it is now also going for this title in 2017. The Club managed to climb 23 positions, landing number 55, in the top 100 ranking from Continental Europe, recently published by the prestigious British publication, Golf World.
The golfing legend and 21 times European Tour winner Miguel Ángel Jiménez, unveiled the new World Class Short Game Facilities at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, whose design he is responsible for.
The new golfing facilities are actually named after the legendary golfer himself, “Las Colinas Short Game Facility designed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez”. The ceremony itself was covered by international media companies including CNN Living Europe TV. There was also a press conference with some notorious journalists from all over Europe.
Located a little over 100 meters from the practice range, the fantastic new Troon conditioned golf facilities are spread over 5,000 sq metres, boasting spacious bermuda grass playing areas, have the perfect placement for golfers and professional groups looking to improve their short game. It offers wide gaming areas which include an immaculate green with 680 square meters of lush bent grass. It has also has 2 large bunkers, allowing the golfers to practice their short game repertoire from a distance of over 65 metres.
“I’m very proud to be inaugurating these new game facilities of Las Colinas, and also very impressed about the impeccable refurbishment area”, stated Jiménez. “Watching the development of all this project since its beginning, early this year, was very thrilling and I’m now wishing golfers from all over the world to come and enjoy these state-of-the-art new facilities.”

Designed by famous architect Cabell B. Robinson and managed by Troon Golf, the course extends itself along a valley, in between the hills, and incorporating itself naturally on the landscape, which offers a captivating and unforgettable experience for golfers of any level.
The Las Colinas Golf & Country Club was also recently distinguished with the Europe’s Leading Villa Resort award and, for the third year in a row, with the title of Spain ’s Leading Villa Resort by the World Travel Awards.

The 387m coastal strip has natural protection from the cape itself and a sea wall, resulting in a calm sea. There is an old Watchtower at La Caleta, which was once used to monitor pirate attacks during the 16th Century.
