Valle del Este Golf Course, designed by Jose Canales is a par 71 is more technical than long, but still many holes require a long and accurate drive, offering a perfect variety of challenges, with wide and narrow fairways, windswept and elevated greens requiring consultation of the pin positions.

Normally this would this would be a must visit course for me but maybe my timing was poor this year as the greens had just received serve hallow tining which made putting a lottery. Four days later the it seemed the greens hadn't been cut since my visit four days ago. I won't let this stop me coming back next year and this course is challenging and fun to play.

Excellent for a resort course but as you would expect not everyone racks bunkers and repairs their pitch marks - this didn't detract from an enjoyable/challenging round of golf. A thinking persons golf course requiring the ability to hit landing zones, with stray shots being punished. Unfortunately the White tees were closed due to maintenance which was disappointing. Very busy so allow 41/2 to 5 hours for 18 holes.

We have played Valle del Este for many years and we have seen the major improvements that they have carried out which has now sped up the rate of play
