La Serena is a beautiful 18-hole mainly flat golf course where the main difficulties come from the prevailing Levante wind & from the water hazards which come into play in no less than 16 holes. The practice and training areas consist of two putting greens with different levels and a ptiching area; plus a driving range overlooking the Mar Menor. The golf course guide is very useful when playing at La Serena.
La Serena golf course on the Costa Blanca has undergone extensive modifications over the last three years. Firstly the greens and bunkers were renovated. Meanwhile, last year the pump house and other small improvements on the golf course were upgraded, leaving the investment in the tee boxes for this year.
All white and blue tee boxes are now being renovated on the golf course, while the yellow and red tee boxes will be updated during the off season.
La Serena is aware that there is equipment in play on several holes and that this can be a distraction, for golfers.
La Serena's greens are also undergoing regular maintenance. The course has Bermuda greens and when the weather warms up, there is a natural waking up of the grass and several minor interventions are required to keep them spotless throughout the season.

Course was in Great condition. A very hard course especially when it’s windy. It’s a very hard start aswell, the first 4 or 5 holes are really testing. We had dinner and drinks after the round, the food was great. The waiting staff were excellent.

Serena GC is well run and all the staff work hard to make your golf the best experience possible.
I love the course, its a fair challenge for all levels.
Sue and I really enjoy our visits to play and the club house is to class.

This is one super tough course, unfortunately the greens had been recently hollowtined which was a shame.. it’s a nice to play course but our 4 ball lost 24 balls in the water, we have handicaps of 9,13,18,20.... for the money it’s worth a visit... the restaurant was so much cheaper than La Manga and had a good menu.

The course is excellent albeit difficult, the pro shop fantastic, unfortunately the same cannot be said of the restaurant & bar staff, we waited 10 minutes to to acknowledged & never were there was nobody else waiting, one member of staff came behind the bar 3 times but never acknowledged us so we left, unfortunately we have to play twice more but will not use the bar or return to the course because of this.

Very slow course, so much water. Late teeing off. No starter/course marshal!!!
Really poor gravel / bunker areas. Like trying to play off of a path all the time.
These areas should be grassed over.

Staff were very friendly and a good course with water at 16 of the 18 holes, quite challenging but a lot of fun and in good condition, the party of 4 really enjoyed la serena and will be on our list to play again next year.
