Costa Ballena is a nice, pleasant golf course where you can switch 27 holes for three different rounds, ''Los Olivos '' ''Las Palmeira '' and '' Los Ficus'' . The best loop is without a doubt the official 1 to 18. On the 13th players have the chance to enjoy the spectacular ocean views. Different types of winds, the Polente in the winter and the Levante in the summer , make this golf course even more challenging Costa Ballena replaced the greens into Bermuda grass to be more sustainable and respectful for the environment with less water and herbicides. Good area of practice, one of the best golf Academys in Spain with a perfect attendance at the clubhouse Clubhouse offers a gym, sauna and Jacuzzi, all of which are free to use after a game. (...)
Sherry Golf Jerez sits just outside the city, overlooking the sherry-producing vineyards the region is famous for, and was designed by Blake Stirling and Marco Martin of Global Golf Company in 2004. It's a modern, American-style layout with wide fairways and generous greens, built to be genuinely enjoyable for amateurs while still testing better players. The front nine climbs into a hillside, with real changes in elevation from the very first hole, before the back nine settles into flatter ground dotted with lakes, including a memorable island-green par 3 from the 11th onward. Well-placed hazards and undulation keep things interesting without tipping into unfair, and the course has built a reputation over two decades for consistently good conditioning. Look out for the bunker on the 18th, shaped like a horse's head in tribute to Jerez's famous equestrian tradition. Sherry Golf has hosted a genuine run of amateur and qualifying tournaments since opening, testament to a course built for serious golf as much as an enjoyable one. For a well-conditioned, genuinely varied round close to the city, this is well worth booking. (...)
Villanueva Golf & Croquet sits in the heart of Cádiz Bay, in the quiet town of Puerto Real, ten minutes by road from the city of Cádiz itself. Opened in 2006 and designed by Aymerich Consulting, the course was given time to mature before it welcomed its first golfers, and that patience shows in a layout that plays with the settled confidence of somewhere twice its age. The par-71 parkland design favours wide, gently undulating fairways over narrow, punishing ones, making it an approachable test for golfers of every level without ever feeling soft. Lakes and water features run through the round, adding a proper measure of tension to a course that's otherwise flat and comfortably walkable. Firm, true-rolling greens reward a good short game, and the whole layout is built to be enjoyed on foot, at an unhurried pace. Off the course, the clubhouse offers a relaxed base for the day, with dining, a shop, locker room and a resident pro on hand for lessons. A driving range, chipping area and putting green round out the practice facilities, and the club's own croquet courts add a genuinely different way to spend an afternoon here. For a well-priced, well-conditioned round in Cádiz Bay, this is one to book without overthinking it. (...)
