Real Novo Sancti Petri - Pines & Sea. The first masterpiece of the legendary Seve Ballesteros, it has hosted several PGA events. The first nine holes are characterised by expansive fairways interspersed with palm trees, pine trees and various water hazards. The famous sixth green offers stunning views of the coastline of La Barrosa, and the last nine is played through a complex series of pine forests, making approach shots to the greens difficult. This is a difficult golf course, par 71 from the yellow tees and par 72 from the lady’s tee, which complements its setting beautifully. The sea and beach views add to the appeal of playing this golf course. Real Novo Sancti Petri is an enjoyable golf course, regardless of golfer’s skill level. Driving range of 8,000sq. meters where up to 120 players can practice simultaneously and complemented by range of practice facilities. Novo Sancti Petri ''Center'' golf course. Learn more about the golf course where Seve Ballesteros made his mark. The fairways of this golf course are flanked with pine and cork oak woods. From holes 5 to 13, the design of the 2001 course can be observed; from hole 10 onwards, the course extends over the cliff and offers panoramic ocean vistas. At holes 5 and 8 on the front nine and holes 14 and 16 on the back nine, water hazards come into play. Between these two sets of holes, many believe the 11th to have the best sea view of the entire resort, as the green requires a very perfect approach shot. Severiano Ballesteros has inscribed his name on six par-threes, six par-fours, and six par-fives, as well as an S-shaped bunker on the 18th hole. (...)
Villanueva Golf & Croquet Puerto Real, Andalusia
Villanueva Golf & Croquet sits in the heart of Cádiz Bay, in the quiet town of Puerto Real, ten minutes by road from the city of Cádiz itself. Opened in 2006 and designed by Aymerich Consulting, the course was given time to mature before it welcomed its first golfers, and that patience shows in a layout that plays with the settled confidence of somewhere twice its age. The par-71 parkland design favours wide, gently undulating fairways over narrow, punishing ones, making it an approachable test for golfers of every level without ever feeling soft. Lakes and water features run through the round, adding a proper measure of tension to a course that's otherwise flat and comfortably walkable. Firm, true-rolling greens reward a good short game, and the whole layout is built to be enjoyed on foot, at an unhurried pace. Off the course, the clubhouse offers a relaxed base for the day, with dining, a shop, locker room and a resident pro on hand for lessons. A driving range, chipping area and putting green round out the practice facilities, and the club's own croquet courts add a genuinely different way to spend an afternoon here. For a well-priced, well-conditioned round in Cádiz Bay, this is one to book without overthinking it. (...)
