Mijas golf - Los Lagos
Mijas Los Lagos golf course is the larger of the two Mijas Golf courses with is 6,536 meters. The golf course has been totally refurbished in 2012, but have kept Robert Trent Jones Jr originall design. Mijas Los Lagos is a course with soft slopes, wide fairways, and few forest trees obstacles, but defended by many bunkers and not less than nine lakes. The greens are large and flat with sensitive undulations and the wide tees can be accommodated to reduce or enlarge the challenge of the golf course.Mijas Los Lagos is considered a course suitable for holiday golfers, being one of the most famous golf courses of the Costa del Sol.
Mijas golf - Los Olivos
Designed by Robert Trent Senior, the main feature which distinguishes Olivos golf course from The Lakes is the abundance of characteristic Mediterraean Olive trees, its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens at Los Olivos golf course are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both golf courses are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two golf courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens.
