Ein interessanter Platz direkt am Grenzfluss zu Spanien. Das Layout im hügeligen Gelände ist sehr gut. Leider leidet der Platz, wie viele andere auch, unter dem Wassermangel. Aktuell ab Vilamoura keine Anfahrt wert! - ** - An interesting course right on the border river with Spain. The layout in the hilly terrain is very good. Unfortunately, like many others, the course suffers from a lack of water. Currently not worth the journey from Vilamoura!

Even though the course was hosting a pro-am today and all tee times were booked we got around in 4 hours. Everything managed brilliantly by course staff. Great course. Definitely must plan your way around the course if you are to avoid the water and sand traps and score. Course in excellent condition in spite of long drought conditions. This was the 3rd time we have played QDV, and the 2nd time this week. I have to confess I have a large picture of the view off the balcony in our house in the UK. A fantastic golf course which is tough, but we generally play Texas scramble with tee shots on par 4s and 5s which keeps everyone in play, and makes it more enjoyable for everyone. Every hole is a challenge, but the course is a fabulous tribute to Seve and we will be back many times. Love it!

My wife and I had got up early for our early tee time, 07.50. On the fourth hole , a starter in a buggy came to tell us to slow down as there were big groups teeing off on the tenth hole until 09.40! We then had a twenty minute wait on the tenth and joined up with another couple to play as a fourball behind the other four balls.

In den letzten 2 Jahren wurde die Corona-Zeit dazu genutzt die Fairways und Greens in einen sehr guten Zustand zu versetzen. Auch das Green-Fee ist angemessen und nicht zu hoch. Sehr gutes Preis- und Leistungs- Verhältnis. English Version - Beautifully situated varied golf course near the Spanish border. The course has been beautifully integrated into the landscape and offers a variety of challenges. In the last 2 years, the Corona period has been used to put the fairways and greens in very good condition. The green fee is also reasonable and not too high. Very good value for money.

The greens were poor with no warning about the fact that they had been sanded - presumable that morning. Bunkers were poor - some were just a mud bath. There were some poor areas on the fairways - but we got around those with pick and place. The course was challenging - made harder by the distractions of poor bunkers and totally unpredictable greens. It would be good to play it when in a better condition.

Quinta do Vale was designed by Seve Ballesteros. That should give you a hint of what it is like: a test of golf! Playable by high handicappers but bring a lot of balls! The course is in superb condition just now (early September). Some very nice holes, even the good golfers need to think before playing a shot (that’s typical of Sevie’s design). Bring your own GPS (buggies don’t have) to know where to aim for. Excellent value for money with Teetimes bookings.

This is a very difficult course that unless you are a long hitter and accurate you should not attempt unless you have a bag of balls. We lost many of ours despite only just being a little inaccurate. The front nine is very crowded you see a lot of holes and there are many golfers in your vicinity, sound travels and it is not a quiet course. The back nine is hilly and more interesting although the 18th is a classic Seve hole, 100% accuracy is required. The clubhouse is clean and comfortable and the views over the course magnificent. It is from the balcony that you see how crowded the front nine holes are. The greens are in good condition and the fairways also well looked after. The staff are very friendly.

Quinta do Vale is a course that is wonderfully integrated into the landscape. The first nine holes are determined by many water hazards and sometimes long tracks which you have to play tactically wisely. The second nine holes are in hilly terrain, here a buggy would be helpful. The only disturbing thing is the ruins of buildings which can be seen almost everywhere.

Front nine is flat with lots of water. Most holes are a long slog. Greens on this this nine were mostly poor. The second nine is laid out over a more hilly area. Holes here are more pleasant to play. Greens on this nine were very good. Not a course I would take a group back to. Course generally is very difficult for mid to high handicappers.

Very good course, a very good test for our fourball of 5, two 6 and 15 handicapper players. Thought the service was excellent. We arrived an hour early of our tee time. The caddy master gave us the option to go out earlier start the back nine first as there was a major group in front of us and possibly be a slow round. We were impressed with his honesty however declined the offer and decided to enjoy our pre round coffee!! Weather wasn't in our favour and asked to walk in after 9, have a tea till goes over and start again on 10th hole after. Staff where very happy to oblige. Overall rate this course every highly. Will give them a 9.5 / 10 and only reason for not full 10 is that a couple of greens can do with very minor attention. Will very much like to play again.

A really interesting layout which looks more intimidating than it is in my view. There is lots of water but you can always work your way around it. It is in a fabulous location and I really enjoyed this course. The only downside was the greens which were not in good condition - slow, bare in parts and bumpy. This was odd as the rest of the course was in good condition. Recommended and would score more highly if the greens were good. By Algarve standards this is really good value for money.

Greens in much better condition than 1 week go. Staff extremely helpful & sent us off as a 2 Ball off 14th to beat slower playing groups...….. Love the course & layout as 2 fantastic contrasting 9s. A real challenge & excellent value for money. A must visit as far as we are concerned in the eastern Algarve. Will return as low handicap golfers.

Even though we had a very rainy day, the course was enjoyable and masterfully designed. You need to plot your way in between dozens of water hazards so it is challenging even for low hcp golfers. High hcp golfers may have a tough round and loose a considerable amount of balls. The views of the valley are great except for the series of abandoned buildings since the financial crash in 2007, which is a pity. The staff is kind and helpful and the greenfees and bar prices are very affordable.

The course was in poor shape. Greens were spongy ( a number of balls plugged on the green), bare patches and very bumpy. Bunkers were worse, compacted and like concrete or no sand at all with only one or two exceptions. The organisation was superb as usual though! Thanks Ron!

The staff in both the reception and the bar/restaurant were very efficient and provided a warm welcome. As a golf course the layout is excellent and provides a good challenge of golf, however the course is currently showing a lack of attention in the areas of bunker management and the quality of the greens where there appears to be a lot of poana grass appearing on the greens, many of which so not roll smoothly. Some of the challenges with the greens might be explained by the recent hot weather but only a small part. Value for money is very good.

Als je aankomt op de baan is het niet zo indrukwekkend dan banen in de buurt. De mensen bij de receptie zijn uiterst vriendelijk. En dan de baan in. Start hole 1 par 5......dan weet je dat Seve hier veel verrassingen in petto heeft. Smalle fairways ,eiland greens doglegs en strategisch aan te spelen greens enz....Een baan die zwkwr de moeite waard is om aan te doen....prima hole 19....de moeite waard.

Played Quinta Do Vale on 20 April 2018. Great test of golf. Lots of water on front nine which makes you think about your second shots. Course in excellent condition. Designed by Seve Ballesteros. Unique in the fact that it has 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s. A real good test for players of all levels. Highly Recommended.

Great. Lovely facilities, friendly staff, and great Seve Balasteros course in good condition. Very happy. First time I have played a Balasteros course, and I really liked it. Not trick (unfair blind shots, etc) but a good test of golf skill and thought. There are some shots that will test your distance, but you will have to think about how you're going to get to the green.... Do it.

The golf course Quinta do Vale, located near the Spanish border, offers two faces. The first 9 holes are played in the valley and must include some water hazards in his game. On the other hand, the 2nd nine holes are well embedded in the more hilly landscape.

Had a nice welcome in reception and they politely warned us if we had enough balls.The first 6 holes are pretty tough and it is easy to see why they asked us about having enough balls as there are water hazards everywhere !!. That said, it does become easier after the initial 6 holes and i found it a lovely course which was Seve's last design before he sadly passed away.My favourite course out of the 4 we played and i think once you have played it once you will find it easier to play the second time round. 8/10

This was booked as a bit of a make weight, at least that is what we thought. The front 9 can feel a bit unfair almost every shot feels like it is over water, but the back 9 is great. The greens were as good as any we had played in Portugal. I would ask people to make the effort to go out and play it, the course needs money and it will be brilliant.
